Telecom giant Bharti Airtel has started its Airtel 5G Plus service in 8 cities from Thursday (October 6). Airtel has given this information by issuing a statement. The company said that customers can enjoy 5G services on their existing data plan till the rollout is completed.

Airtel has said in the statement that Airtel 5G Plus service has been launched in 8 cities Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Siliguri, Nagpur and Varanasi. If you live in these cities, then you can take advantage of Airtel’s 5G Plus service. As the company continues to build out its network and complete the rollout. The company says that 5G service will be expanded across the country by 2023.

No need to change SIM for 5G

The company said that customers who have 5G smartphones can enjoy the high-speed Airtel 5G Plus service on their existing data plan only, till the company’s rollout is completed. If you live in these cities then there is no need for you to change the SIM card. You will get 5G service only on your 4G SIM, just your phone should be 5G. There will be no extra charge for 5G enabled in existing Airtel 4G SIM.

5G will get 20 to 30 times more speed

The Sunil Mittal-led company said that Airtel 5G Plus runs on a technology that is considered to be the most developed ecosystem in the world. This ensures that all 5G smartphones in India work seamlessly on the Airtel network. The company promises to deliver great voice and super-fast call connection experience with speeds up to 20-30 times higher in 5G than in 4G. The company believes that 5G Plus will provide 30 times faster downloading speed than Airtel 4G.

What did the CEO of the company say?

Commenting on the launch, the company’s Managing Director and CEO Gopal Vital said that Airtel has been at the forefront of India’s telecom revolution for the last 27 years. Today marks another step in our journey as we build a great network to deliver the best experience for our customers.

Gopal further said, “Our customers are the first for us. Hence our service will work on 5G handsets and also on existing SIMs that the customers have. With 5G service, we want to improve the customer experience.

These services will be available in 5G

According to Airtel, 5G Plus is all set to redefine the way people communicate, live, work, connect and play in the coming years. Airtel 5G Plus will be able to do high-definition video streaming, gaming, multiple chatting, quick uploading of photos with superfast speed. Jio’s True 5G beta trial started from October 5.
Before Airtel, Reliance Jio’s True-5G service has started from October 5. Jio has started the beta trial of the service from 4 cities of the country, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Varanasi. Right now this service is on invitation, that is, only a select few customers from the existing Jio users have been invited to use this service.
