Jio added 29 lakh new users in July: 41.59 crore users, Voda-idea decreased by 15.4 lakh users

Reliance Jio’s dominance in the telecom sector is increasing. According to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Jio has added 29.4 lakh new users to its network in July. With this, the number of users of Jio network has increased to 41.59 crore.

5.1 lakh new users added to Bharti Airtel

Bharti Airtel added 5.1 lakh new users in July. After which the number of Airtel subscribers has increased to 36.34 crores. At the same time, the users of Vodafone Idea are continuously decreasing. Vodafone-Idea company’s 15.4 lakh users have left the network in July. With this, the total number of subscribers of the company has come down to 25.51 crores.

1148 million mobile phone users in the country

According to the TRAI report, the number of mobile phone users in the country has increased by 0.06% in the month of July. At present, there are about 1148 million mobile phone users in the country. Whereas in June this figure was 114.7 crores.

Jio’s 36.23% market share

According to TRAI, the market share of Reliance Jio has increased from 36% to 36.23% in the telecom market, while the market share of Bharti Airtel has increased from 31.63% to 31.66%. At the same time, the share of Vodafone-Idea has come down from 22.37 to 22.22% in comparison to June.

Mobile users decreased in rural areas

While the number of mobile phone users has increased in urban areas, there has been a slight decrease in the number of mobile phone users in rural areas. Compared to June, the number of users in urban areas increased from 64.90 million to 65.04 million, while the number of users in rural areas has decreased from 52.39 million to 52.33 million.

5G will come in October

In its annual AGM, Reliance had told that it will launch 5G service by Diwali this year. At the same time, Airtel also plans to launch 5G service in October.
