SSA Punjab Recruitment 2020- Latest Notification- In a latest notification from Punjab Department of School Education, SSA (Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan), the last date for online application process for the post of 2182 Master Cadre Teachers has been extended.

Department of School Education-Punjab released a public notice as applicable from 16.04.2020 informing the extension of online application form date to 05 may 2020 for Master Cadre Teacher post.

The circular released by the Department also mentions that for candidates having payment related issue, they can send copy of Bank Challan at mail ID.

This move came in light of the lockdown extension in the wake of COVID-19. Considering banks will not resume their normal operations till the lockdown is lifted. Public notice issued states the exam date to be postponed until indefinite time, and will be intimated later.

Eligibility Criteria for Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan SSA Master Cadre Posts

Candidate with Graduate with 45% marks in case of General Category; 40% in case of Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Classes and Physically Handicapped Candidates from a recognized University or Institution.

Should have passed Hindi as an elective subject in the three years of Graduation

Candidate with B.Ed from a recognized University or Institution with Hindi as one of the teaching subjects as per the guidelines of University Grants Commission.


Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) is Government of India’s flagship programme for achievement of Universalization of Elementary Education (UEE) in a time bound manner, as mandated by 86th amendment to the Constitution of India making free and compulsory Education to the Children of 6-14 years age group, a Fundamental Right. SSA has a special focus on girl’s education and children with special needs. SSA also provides computer education to bR&Dge the digital divide. This programme plans to open new schools in those areas which do not have schooling facilities and strengthen school infrastructure through provision od additional class rooms, toilets, drinking water, maintenance grant and school improvement grants.
