World Refugees Day 20th June

Why we celebrate World Refugee Day on 20th June every year

World Refugee Day

What is world Refugee Day? It is simply celebrated to realise how difficulty and challenges faces by refugee in other countries. When the becam a refugee it means they leave their country or birth place dur to some aggression or exploitation. It is difficult to leave any where in the world far from your birthday place and survival is also very in harsh conditions.

So we celebrate world Refugee Day to realise how refugees experience when they are living a refugee life, when they have no citizenship of any country , when they cannot participate in higher job trainings. How they feel.

On the occasion of World Refugee Day, Incluusion is participating in an online event arranged by AISU .

The event is aimed at raising awareness about the all the challenges and difficulty that refugees face, through providing a platform for several organizations and initiatives in Utrecht and the Netherlands that are working together with refugees to introduce and explain their work.

As Incluusion is one of those organizations, we will get the chance to explain our work and aspirations for an inclusive future for our students. We will present our work and current projects.

We invite you, as a student, to join the event and ask us questions!

The International Refugee Law Committee, in collaboration with the Standing Committee on Pro Bono and Public Service and the Young Lawyers Division, seeks to commemorate World Refugee Day (Sunday, June 20, 2021). World Refugee Day was inaugurated by the United Nations in 2001–the 50th anniversary year of the 1951 Convention Related to the Status of Refugees–to raise global awareness of the unique challenge refugees and asylum seekers face across our planet. It stands as a reminder of the urgency of defending and supporting those who have fled persecution in their countries of origin and are seeking refuge abroad. In commemoration of the Day, ABA President Patricia Lee Refo and a variety of experts involved in the fight for justice and wholeness for refugees and asylum seekers will share their experiences, discussing opportunities to protect, support, and advocate for these vulnerable groups.

Join the United Nations Association of USA Greater Detroit Chapter on Saturday, June 19, 2021 for a panel discussion featuring experts from immigration law, asylum/immigration rights and organizations serving the refugee community in metro Detroit in observation of World Refugee Day 2021.
